Facilities & Events Manager 35 Hours Per Week
Pay - 22,000-25,000 (range)
Leave entitlement: 22 days plus bank holidays (Pro Rata)

Byker Community Centre was built in 1925 and opened in 1928, it’s been delivering everything from dancing, art, table tennis to medieval banquets ever since. Thanks to our successful bid to the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund we are expanding our team to make sure we continue to deliver great services in Byker.
This post is a brilliant opportunity to mould and shape a project with the community around you. Our community centre is in the heart of Byker and we work closely to deliver services and supports that is a good fit. This project will provide you with the chance to design events, pop up projects, and services that community will love. You will have time and support to make sure everything in the building is working with you to deliver the best possible events and services.
The post holder will be responsible for the smooth running of the building, line managing the part-time cleaner and a small team of volunteers. This role is fully funded for the first year. The post holder will be supported to use the natural assets of the building to create an income to support the post in year two.
You will have specific responsibilities for The Story Hub - development and activity delivery. This is project is delivered in partnership with exciting partners. We are looking for someone who understands partnership working and knows how to deliver great projects with others. You will have the opportunity to work with our creative partnership in Byker, including; Byker Trust, Northern Stage, Seven Stories, Northern Print, Foundation Futures, Live Theatre.
